Front-end speech recognition speeds the process and reduces the cost of creating medical records. A radiologist dictates directly into a computer and the dictated text appears on the computer screen. The doctor can then edit, electronically sign and distribute the document completely - automating the transcription process - or send it to a medical transcriptionist for editing.
