VoiceWriter is 100 percent digital. Incoming voices are converted to digital signals at the dictate station and stored on a computer hard drive. This eliminates many of the problems common with analog systems, such as low-quality recordings caused by crosstalk or line interference. And it gives you additional capabilities, like instant, random access to any dictated report and automatic work routing. Whatever your business, VoiceWriter will streamline voice processing, from dictation to transcription. And it provides levels of control that only digital systems can offer.

VoiceWriter supports the VoiceWrite EX dictate and transcribe stations. These stations feature a backlit LCD panel that displays easy-to-read instructions and report information. A wide variety of optional accessories lets you customize these stations to suit your particular application.

VoiceWriter provides physicians with easy methods to create voice documents. VoiceWriter’s VoiceManager software is a Microsoft Windows application providing a graphical user interface (GUI). Colorful graphics and easy-to-use, icon-driven functions help reduce training time and increase productivity. As each report is dictated, the user enters ID information to help create a unique record image that identifies that particular report. ID information can be entered using the keypad on the dictate station, one of the programmable function keys or a bar code reader. For maximum convenience, Lanier Healthcare offers three bar code scanning devices: a light pen, a laser scanner and Lanier Healthcare’s patented Datamic pistol grip microphone with built-in light pen.

The VoiceWrite EX station display panel provides interactive visual prompts for on-site users. Both remote and on-site users can also listen to verbal prompts to guide them through the dictation process. Even first-time users will find it easy to use the system’s special functions. And you can personalize the system by recording your own verbal prompts.

VoiceWriter is compatible with the VoiceWriter OS, allowing you to preserve previous investments, including the digital VoiceWrite EX Stations. It is compatible with emerging speech recognition software, so you can implement this technology without buying separate systems. It is also compatible with the Cquence Mobile digital handheld recorder as well as the TouchWorks: Dictate application provided by Allscripts Healthcare Solutions. And it runs on an industry-standard Microsoft Windows NT® platform. Therefore, it meets your current needs with an open architecture that complements your information systems strategy.

VoiceWriter offers you a choice of recorders, each designed for maximum performance and available in a variety of configurations. And VoiceWriter is scalable; choose from four to 64 ports in a single box or virtually unlimited ports in a networked environment.

The VoiceWriter 1000 and VoiceWriter NT Recorders use specially designed port cards with Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) to ensure maximum performance. Redundant voice storage ensures maximum reliability. And flexible storage options let you configure your system with as much as 800 hours of redundant recording time.
